SCHOOL PROGRAM

The School Program offers a variety of activities, from basic Archery “Come N Try” with Soft Archery Equipment to Archery 101 and Advanced Archery 102 programs.
Session can be at our venue or we can come to you.

What are the various Archery activities we offer?

1. Archery “Come N Try” Soft Archery.

  • Archery has some inherent safety issues in particular with groups and venue limitations.
  • We can remove all these safety issues with our Soft Archery Programs which can be delivered in 3 formats:.

2. Archery Australia Arrows Program

Archery Australia Arrow Program is a safe low impact Archery Program designed for children under 10 years of age.

  • Bows are light draw weight and arrows are rubber tipped suction cap for safety.
  • The target is a hard board with the choice of two target faces, arrows stick to the target.
  • Great fun, easy set-up and a great archery learning experience.
  • Designed for all ages but particular good for under 10 year olds.
Advantages
  • Only a limited overshoot area required.
  • Can be set up in a confined space such as Sports Hall, Gym or small outdoor venue.
  • Totally safety with rubber tipped suction cap arrows

3. Hoverball Archery

Hoverball Archery is a portable and inflatable Archery range using “Safe Archery Equipment”

  • Bows are light draw weight and arrows rubber tipped for safety.
  • Four balls float in an air stream and the participants shoot the ball off the air flow.
  • Great fun, easy set-up and a great archery learning experience.
  • All that is required is a 240V power source.
  • Designed for all ages but particular good for under 10 year olds.
Advantages
  • No overshoot area required.
  • Can be set up in a confined space such as Sports Hall, Gym or small outdoor venue.
  • Totally safety with rubber tipped arrows

4. STICKIT Archery

STICKIT Archery is a portable and inflatable Archery range designed for a more real life Archery experience while still using “Safe Archery Equipment”

  • Bows are light draw weight and arrows Velcro tipped both for safety and to stick to the target.
  • Target are 122cm (4ft) in diameter with a five colour Archery target face
  • Great fun, easy set-up and a great archery learning experience.
  • All that is required is a 240V power source.
  • Designed for all ages but particular good for under 10 year olds.
Advantages
  • Only a limited overshoot area required.
  • Can be set up in a confined space such as Sports Hall, Gym or small outdoor venue.
  • Totally safety with rubber tipped suction cap arrows

5. Archery “Come N Try”

This is our standard introductory class we deliver to the general public. It is for everyone youth from 8 years an up with little to no archery experience, but are interested in the sport of Archery and ready to get their feet wet. This program used real bows and real arrows, as such safety is our first priority. We will not be responsible for the behaviour of students and we reserve the right to remove students from a session if found they do not follow direction.

What will the class cover?
  • Basic safety procedures
  • Basic technique and aiming
  • Most importantly how to properly handle a bow, so that you can let your first arrow fly with confidence and success!
Outcomes
  • You will have a basic understand of Archery, including safety, how to shoot a bow and understanding of the enjoyment in shooting an arrow that hits the centre.
  • You will receive at the completion of the session a booklet on Archery, information on how you can progress and a certificate of completion.
Session Information
  • Age Requirement: 8 years of age or older.
  • Participate Limits: Each session is limited to 8 participants for one instructor.
  • Participate Limits: If we come to your venue, we will need to undertake a Risk Assessment to ensure the venue complies with our Safety Requirements. In particular overshoot zones and access limitations. A teacher is required to supervise each session.
    We will not be responsible for the behaviour of students and we reserve the right to remove students from a session if found they do not follow direction.
  • People with a Disability: Welcome.
  • Equipment: Provided.
  • Time Commitment: Generally, 1 hour but can be modified to fit into Class Periods.
  • Prerequisite: None
  • Where: We can come to you or you can come to our facility in Moorebank.
  • Cancellations: We have a 24 hr cancellation/rescheduling policy. If a class is missed, cancelled or changed with less than 24 hrs notice, a $5 per person fee will apply.
  • Weather Policy: As this is an outdoor venue we strictly adhere to Archery Australia’s weather policy – Heat over 38O or winds gusting to 40kms per hour the activity will be postponed and rescheduled.

6. Archery 101 FOR SCHOOLS

Archery 101 for schools is a six-week program designed for school students wishing to engage in Archery as a sport. We can also assist schools in establishing a Club registered with ArcheryNSW and Archery Australia. The program commences with an Archery “Come N Try” session then followed by more formal instruction The goal is to get you to group your shoot your arrows shoot groups and to keep a record of your shooting by scoring. By scoring you can track your progress. The Archery Australia OzBow Program is a major element of Archery101. The lesson will be both fun and memorable for everyone, and could become a lifetime sport or hobby.

What will the course cover?
  • Basic Archery technique followed by more advanced by and archery instruction
  • Using Archery accessories,
    • Recurve, clicker, bow slings
    • Compound, release aids, peep sights
  • Equipment Set Up, ensure you equipment is set-up for you to ensure maximum results
  • Sighting and aiming
  • Rules and scoring
What will the course cover?
  • Participants will have a greater knowledge of Archery, safety, correct technique that can take you all the way to World Championship and Olympic Games, knowledge on how a bow works and how to set up a bow, scoring, aiming.
  • Participants can purchase their own equipment (if you have not already), join a club and become a part of the Archery Community.
  • Participants will have engaged in the Archery Australia OzBow program and have advanced from qualifying at to 30m and beyond.
  • Participants will receive as part of the course a copy of Archery 101 an Introduction Book to Archery and a certificate that will allow you to join and shoot at any Archery Australia Club.
Session Information
  • Age Requirement: 12 years of age or older
  • Participate Limits: Each course is limited to 10 people for each instructor/coach to ensure a better hand on experience.
  • Equipment: Initially we will provide equipment, later during the course the school can provide equipment, (such equipment must be checked and cleared prior to use).
  • Time Commitment: 6 weeks, ideally consecutive, 1 hour a session or we can tailor the session to fit into the school program.
  • Prerequisite: Ideally have undertaken Archery “Come N Try’ or past experience but not essential.
  • Arrival: Prefer you arrive 10-15 MINUTES EARLY
  • Cancellations: We have a 24 hr cancellation/rescheduling policy. If a class is missed, cancelled or changed with less than 24 hrs notice, a $5 per person fee will apply.
